Our Clinical Research Facility (CRF) has been recognised as a Gold Recruiter for Colo-Cohort, the Bowel Cancer Risk Prevention Study. The accolade reflects sustained, high-quality enrolment that is helping the study accelerate delivery while maintaining rigorous standards of participant experience, governance and data quality.

Colo-Cohort aims to develop a robust risk-stratification tool to identify patients most likely to have adenomas or colorectal cancer, supporting earlier detection and smarter use of endoscopy and surveillance resources. In parallel, the team is building a large consent-to-contact platform so that participants who opt in can be approached about future research, creating an efficient route to match volunteers with relevant studies and shortening the time from set-up to first participant in.
Gold Recruiter status underscores the contribution of research nurses, clinicians, administrators and, above all, participants, whose involvement enables timely recruitment and high-fidelity data capture. Strong enrolment brings practical benefits: it increases the statistical power of analyses, reduces uncertainty around findings, and can shorten the path to clinical adoption of validated tools that improve outcomes and make services more efficient.
The recognition also signals confidence to collaborators and sponsors that our CRF delivers at pace and to standard, with streamlined clinic flow, clear information for participants and robust consent and follow-up processes. As Colo-Cohort progresses, the insights generated should help target prevention and screening to those who need it most, while the consent-to-contact community will support a pipeline of future studies across prevention, diagnostics and care.
